One-Page Resume Templates
Single-page layouts with efficient spacing and compact section blocks, so a focused resume stays readable instead of cramped.
A one-page resume is an editing decision before it is a design one. These templates use tighter section spacing and compact headers so the content you keep has room to breathe on a single page.
One-page template collection
Layouts that fit a focused resume on a single A4 page without shrinking the text.

What is a one-page resume?
A one-page resume presents the most relevant part of your background within a single page. It is not a summary of everything you have ever done — it is a selection made for the role you are applying to.
One page is a useful default, not a universal rule. If your relevant experience genuinely needs more space, a second page is reasonable.
Who should use a one-page resume?
- Students and freshers applying to campus and off-campus openings
- Early-career candidates with one to four years of experience
- Professionals whose relevant experience is concentrated in recent roles
- Career changers presenting a focused, transferable story
- Anyone who can make their case clearly without extra detail
What should fit on a one-page resume?
- Contact information — name, phone, email and city as plain text
- A concise summary of three to four lines
- Skills that match the language of the job description
- The most relevant experience, with achievement bullets
- Education with degree, institution and year
- Selected projects and certifications that add evidence
How to fit a resume on one page without making it unreadable
- Remove roles, tools and detail that no longer support your target job
- Merge repetitive bullets that describe the same kind of work
- Give recent and relevant experience the most space
- Keep headings proportionate instead of oversized
- Tighten spacing between sections before touching body text size
- Do not reduce body text below a comfortable reading size
- Drop personal details such as date of birth, marital status and full address
One-page vs two-page resume
| One page | Two pages | |
|---|---|---|
| Best career stage | Fresher to mid-level | Experienced and senior |
| Amount of experience | Concentrated in recent roles | Substantial and still relevant |
| Detail level | Selected highlights | Fuller achievement history |
| Common use case | Campus hiring, bulk portal applications | Senior, specialist and leadership roles |
| Risk | Overcrowding when nothing is cut | Weak second page that adds nothing |
Frequently asked questions
Should a fresher resume always be one page?
Almost always, because education, skills, projects and internships usually fit comfortably. Substantial research work, publications or long internships can justify going slightly longer.
Can experienced professionals use a one-page resume?
Yes, when their relevant experience is concentrated in recent roles. Compress older positions to a line each and keep the achievement bullets for the roles closest to your target job.
What font size should I use on a one-page resume?
Keep body text at a comfortable reading size and adjust spacing first. Shrinking text to squeeze in extra content usually costs you more in readability than the content is worth.
How many projects should I include?
Two or three well-described projects work better than a long list. Explain what you built, the tools used and the outcome rather than naming the project alone.
Is a one-page resume ATS-friendly?
Page count is not what parsing software reacts to — layout and structure are. A single-column one-page template with standard headings is a lower-risk choice, but ATS behaviour still varies by system.
Should I remove older experience to reach one page?
Remove or compress it when it no longer supports the role you are targeting. Keep a short line with title, company and dates rather than deleting the timeline entirely.
