Why Indian job seekers need a different resume builder
Generic resume builders push you towards the American one-page, no-photo, education-at-the-bottom format. That works for the US — it does not work for India. Indian recruiters expect 1–2 pages, an obvious Skills section, a clear Education block with college and year, and Projects or Internships if you are a fresher.
GradVix is designed for Indian conventions out of the box. You do not have to fight the template; you just fill it in.
Who this is for
- Freshers — B.Tech, BE, BCA, BBA, BCom, BA, BSc graduates from any college.
- MBA / PGDM students — Final placements and lateral hiring with relevant case studies.
- IT professionals (0–10 years) — Java, Python, React, Node, Data Engineering, DevOps, QA, SAP, Salesforce.
- Non-IT working professionals — Sales, BD, Marketing, HR, Finance, Operations, Customer Success.
- Switchers — People moving from service to product, or from tier-2 to tier-1 companies.
Three templates, every ATS
- Classic — Single-column, bold header. Recruiter favourite. Safest for IT services and BFSI.
- Modern — Two-column with dark sidebar. Great for product, design and startup roles.
- Minimal — Thin lines, generous spacing. Senior and consulting profiles.
All three are parsed cleanly by Naukri RMS, LinkedIn Recruiter, Workday and the in-house ATS used by major Indian employers.
What goes into a strong Indian resume
- Header — Name, +91 phone, professional email, city, LinkedIn, GitHub/Portfolio.
- Summary — 2–3 lines positioning you for the role you want next, not just describing what you do today.
- Skills — Grouped (Languages, Frameworks, Cloud, Tools). Match the JD vocabulary.
- Experience — Reverse-chronological. Each bullet starts with a verb and includes a number.
- Projects / Internships — Especially important for freshers and switchers.
- Education — Degree, college, year, CGPA or percentage if 7+/70%+.
- Certifications & Achievements — AWS, Azure, GATE, JEE rank, scholarships, hackathons.
