Why your resume needs an ATS score check
Over 90% of medium and large Indian companies — including TCS, Infosys, Wipro, HCL, Accenture and Cognizant — use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS) to filter resumes before a recruiter ever sees them. The ATS reads your resume, extracts text, matches keywords against the job description, and scores you. If your score is low, your application is silently rejected.
A free ATS score check tells you exactly where you stand. Instead of guessing why you are not getting interview calls, you get a number, a list of problems and a list of fixes.
What our free ATS checker analyses
When you upload your resume, GradVix runs the same kind of checks an enterprise ATS does:
- Parsing — Can the ATS even read your name, email, phone and work history? Resumes built in Canva, with images, columns or text boxes often fail here.
- Keyword match — We compare the skills, tools and role terms in your resume against your target job description.
- Section structure — Does your resume have clear Experience, Education, Skills and Projects sections, in the order ATS expects?
- Formatting risk — Tables, headers/footers, icons, multiple columns and unusual fonts can break parsing.
- Bullet quality — Are your bullets achievement-oriented with numbers, or vague responsibility statements?

What a good ATS score looks like
For Indian IT services, BFSI and product roles, aim for these benchmarks:
- 85+ — Excellent. You will pass keyword filters comfortably.
- 70–84 — Good. A few keyword and formatting fixes will push you higher.
- 50–69 — Needs work. You are losing interview calls you should be getting.
- Below 50 — Rebuild. Your resume is almost certainly being filtered out by ATS.
The free score check tells you which band you are in and exactly what to fix to move up.
Free ATS check vs paid resume reviews
Paid LinkedIn and Naukri resume writing services charge ₹1,500 to ₹8,000 and take 3–5 days. You usually get a redesign — but no objective score, no keyword data, and no way to see if it actually performs better in an ATS.
GradVix gives you the score, the data and the fixes for free, in under a minute. If you want the AI to rewrite your bullets and summary automatically, you can upgrade later — but most users get a strong resume by simply applying the free fixes we suggest.
